Covid-19, or the CoronaVirus, has caused almost all of us to be forced to stay home. But by doing so, the estimated deaths in America by August went from 240,000, to 81,000, and now to 60,000.
Although it gets boring and/or annoying to stay at home, it really is helping the fight, so keep it up! But back to the point… It can take a slight toll on you if you are locked up at home the entire day, so here are some tips to not only help you stay physically healthy, but mentally as well:
1. Eat a nice, hearty breakfast
You’ve heard the saying; Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. You should enjoy breakfast like you are a king or queen. Make sure it is filled with a variety of nutrient-rich foods.
A nice breakfast will kick-start your metabolism, helping you burn calories through the day. It will also give you a nice boost of energy and focus as well as better memory, lower levels of “bad” cholesterol, and decreased chances of getting diabetes, heart disease, and being overweight.
So, enjoy some delicious fruit, cereal, eggs, and oats when you wake up!
2. Set up a daily schedule
It can be easy to get bored not knowing how to spend your day. By creating a daily plan, you will have motivation throughout your day to get things done.
You won’t feel spiritless or “sick”, rather you will have something to do by following your plan and getting things done.
3. Get some exercise in
Don’t let this quarantine get you away from staying fit. It’s easy to say “Oh, gyms are closed. Now I get to take a break from working out.” But this should not be the case. Workout from home or go on a walk around your block. There are a ton of home workouts that you can find online!
Whatever you choose, just make sure to stick with it. Remember many successful and happy people incorporate exercise into their lives. Be smart about it! Your health depends on it.
4. Tips for working from home
If you employer asks you to work from home, use a couple of these tips from this AMAZING video from the Valuetainment YouTube channel:
1.) Work during the same work hours you had

Not only will these tips help you work efficiently, but it will allow you to be less stressed out while working.
5. Don’t be afraid to take breaks
Our bodies and minds require breaks. They need to be recharged and energized in order to perform at the highest capacity.
Take about 3 breaks during your work hours so that you will stay fresh and focused.
6. Have nutrient-rich lunches and dinners
Because of the quarantine you get more time to spend with family and more time to prepare meals. Make sure your food is wholesome, filled with proteins, fats, and good carbs, which are required for a healthy body.
Not only will this be beneficial to your body but also your mind as well. You know the saying: “You are what you eat”. Eat healthy, so you will be healthy.
Try to have dinner before 8:00pm and try to keep your dinner light. Don’t overeat!
7. Get an adequate amount of sleep.
One of the most overlooked aspects of maintaining good health is getting the right amount of sleep. Sleep is a significant part of a strong immune system, concentration, and ability function.
Try to get at least 8 hours of sleep daily. It will keep both your mind and body at peak performance levels.
